DEPARTMENT OF POSTHARVEST TECHNOLOGY
1. General introduction
Department of Post-harvest Technology is one of the first three departments of the Factulty of Food Science and Technology, established under the Decision No. 1014 / QD-TCCB, dated November 20, 2001 of the Rector of the University of Agriculture. I, now Vietnam National University of Agriculture. Its mission is to train high-quality human resources, while promoting scientific research, technology transfer, international cooperation in the field of post-harvest technology and food technology.

3. Functions and missions
Functions:
· Provide a number of fundamental and specialized training courses for Post-harvest Technology, Food Technology, Food Technology and Business majors, and Food Quality and safety management sub-major at undergraduate and graduate level at Factulty of Food Science and Technology. In addition, we also take part in training for other fields such as Agronomy (Crop Science, Medicinal Plant Science, High-tech Agriculture, Urban Agriculture, Horticulture and landscape design); Agri-business management, and Agricultural Economics.
· Doing scientific research and technology transfer in the field of Post-harvest Technology and Food Technology, providing services and technology transfer according to market demands
Missions:
· Building and training teaching staffs and technicians with high professional qualifications to undertake the tasks of training, scientific research, technology transfer and international cooperation.
· Develop and improve the content of the courses and modules, provide reference materials related to the training majors and subjects assigned by the university and the Faculty.
· Apply the innovate teaching methods, manage and evaluate learning process to meet the university’s regulations.
